Analysis: Possible reasons why Gordhan ordered to return by Zuma

Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan and his deputy Mcebisi Jonas were instructed by the President to return home from their international investment promotion roadshow to London and the United States.

EWN Reporter Stephen Grootes says there's speculation suggesting that President Jacob Zuma cut the trip short because of the Gupta court case which is due to start on Tuesday.

No reasons for the instruction were provided.

The other thing is that there are serious reports that other Ministers are also called back. That suggests that something bigger is going on.

Grootes says this report comes amidst growing rumours of a Cabinet reshuffle."
