Blade Nzimande says attacks on Gordhan worrying, but mum on President's actions

South African Communist Party (SACP) secretary, Blade Nzimande, says the communist party is still concerned about attacks on the National Treasury and Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan.

Nzimande says he cannot reveal whether President Jacob Zuma said he will replace Gordhan during their bilateral meeting on Monday night.

According to reports, Zuma has told the SACP that he wants to get rid of Gordhan, amid speculation that he will be replaced by former Eskom CEO Brian Molefe.

We are not praise singers for the Finance Minister, but we feel that he must be respected.
