Gordhan, Dlamini-Zuma among others spotted at Luthuli House

28 March 2017 4:13 PM
It is still unclear why the President asked Finance Minister to return to South Africa from investors roadshow.

Reporting from Luthuli House, EWN reporter, Clement Manyathela, spoke with The Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu), Secretary General, Bheki Ntshalintshali.

Ntshalintshali, declared the trade union's shock at President Jacob Zuma instructing Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan to return from an investors roadshow.

Ntshalintshali said Zuma's move was unprecedented and says Cosatu has not been consulted about a Cabinet reshuffle.

Manyathela confirms that Gordhan met with ANC Secretary general, Gwede Mantashe on Tuesday at Luthuli House.

And then a few minutes later, we saw his DG, Mr. Fuzile and we spoke to him about the roadshow and he spoke about though it was cut short it was a great show, they've met with 50 investors.

Manyathela says it also believed Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma was present at the ANC headquarters after spotting her VIP protection.

Midday Report host and EWN reporter, Stephen Grootes says there is definitely something going on.

Grootes says because things are unclear at this moment caution needs to be taken when reporting on a developing story such as this.
