Guptas vs Gordhan – it’s open war!
Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan is seeking a court order declaring that he cannot interfere in the decision by multiple banks to close Gupta-linked accounts.
The North Gauteng High Court disallowed a Financial Intelligence Centre report that details 72 suspicious transactions in the Gupta accounts, saying it does not pertain to the issue of whether Gordhan can intercede in the banks’ decision to not do business with the Guptas.
Gupta-owned Sahara Computers did not succeed in getting the court to declare that Gordhan pay legal costs from his own pocket rather than being represented by a state attorney.
