President Zuma won't speak at Ahmed Kathrada's funeral

The funeral of struggle stalwart and Rivonia trialist Ahmed Kathrada's will be held at Westpark Cemetery on Wednesday morning.

The family of struggle stalwart, Ahmed Kathrada, has said President Jacob Zuma will not be attending the funeral when Kathrada is laid to rest on Wednesday morning.

Tourism Minister Derek Hanekom will be directing the programme, while African National Congress (ANC) secretary general, Gwede Mantashe, will speak on behalf of the party.

Kathrada and other several ANC stalwarts have raised their concerns about the current state of the ruling party and asked to Zuma to resign.

The 86-year-old died on Tuesday morning after short illness.

Earlier this moth he was admitted for a surgery related to blood clotting in the brain.
