Business community concerned about rumours of Gordhan removal

Mark Lamberti, Business Leadership South Africa (BLSA) board member, spoke with The Midday Report host Stephen Grootes about the speculations surrounding the removal of Pravin Gordhan from his position as Finance Minister.

Lamberti says the risks to business at the prospect of such a move are very high. He says the finance ministry and its associated entities are stable and applauded by local and international investors. He sees no reason why that should be disrupted.

In the absence of a feasible explanation people start to say immediately, that there is an ulterior motive here and of course that casts huge questions over our country.

Lamberti explains that the concerns over a cabinet reshuffle are not exclusively about Gordhan, but about having expertise and integrity involved in these key institutions of the State.
