Gordhan says he will begin a new chapter if he is sacked as Finance Minister
With uncertainty and looming anxiety over a possible cabinet reshuffle, Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan says he is dealing with this week’s events "in a professional manner".
There has been mounting speculation that Gordhan may be asked to leave his position after President Jacob Zuma summoned him and his deputy home from an international investor roadshow.
The press took an opportunity to speak to the minister at Ahmed Kathrada's funeral service at Westpark cemetery on Wednesday.
Gordhan who received a standing ovation told reporters he will start a new chapter in his life if he is sacked as the finance minister.
Eyewitness News reporter Ziyanda Ngcobo was there.
