Theresa May begins Brexit process, files formal letter to EU

British Prime Minister Theresa May has started the Brexit process and filed formal papers on Wednesday, despite protests outside the UK government and uncertainty over negotiations that will test the cohesion of the European Union (EU).

May formally notified EU Council President Donald Tusk in a letter.

Gavin Grey details about what is next.

Now the great repeal bill will be published here in the UK tomorrow. What it effectively does is it says all European Union laws will become British laws.

The Scottish are still demanding that a new independence referendum be held in late 2018 or early 2019, once the terms of Britain's exit from the European Union (EU) have become clearer.

Theresa May whose permission needs to be sought for a Scottish independence referendum has effectively said that is not happening, it will be at my choosing and timing… so yes Scotland and the Scottish parliament very much at loggerheads with Westminister.
