Business Leadership South Africa (BLSA) deputy chairman, Bonang Mohale, says President Jacob Zuma should not have axed Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan and his deputy Mcebisi Jonas.
President has demonstrated that he will go after one ministry that is effective and efficient and will leave the ones that have been declared by the courts to be poor-performing ministries all in the name of probably cronyism and making sure that he continues the state of capture.— Bonang Mohale, BLSA deputy chairman
The rating agencies were very clear. They raised five things, all of them have to do with growth, manage your politics, make sure your regulation is okay and manage your state-owned enterprises. We go and cut our nose... we score our own goal at the time when the economy was demonstrating green shoots.
