Religion - what does it mean to you?

Are you religious, and why do you believe in your particular religion? The Constitution of South Africa says everyone has the right to freedom of conscience, religion, thought, belief and opinion.

702/CapeTalk presenter Redi Tlhabi asked the listeners the reason why they believe in their particular religion.

Lawrence in Randburg says he was brought up as a Christian and growing up he made a conscience decision to become atheist. He doesn’t believe in God or fairies. He says religion has taken what is normal to humanity and packaged it for money.

Zweli in Kwathema is a Christian. He says Christianity makes sense to him because the Bible is clear on what Christianity is all about.

Sean in Edenvale says the Bible is man made. He is an atheist and believes that religion is imposed on children with no freedom of choice and is tantamount to abuse.
