Cosatu wants Zuma to step down
Another African National Congress (ANC) alliance partner, Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) has joined the South African Communist Party's (SACP) call for President Jacob Zuma to step down, saying he is not fit to run the country.
Cosatu says the time has come for Zuma to step down and allow the country to be led by a new collective government.
The trade union federation says it will not communicate its decision with the ANC.
They backed Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa to take the reigns from Zuma in December when the ruling party elected it's new leadership.
One thing they make clear is that while they want the President to leave office, they don't support the march by the DA to Luthuli House. They have called on their members to stay away from the march. They call it an act of provocation.Clement Manyathela, EWN reporter
They are saying we will sit and talk about strategies of how we take this forward, but don't join that march on Friday.Clement Manyathela, EWN reporter
