Chief executive officer of the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) Thokozani Magwaza, has applied to the Constitutional Court for permission to file his own affidavit in the case involving Minister of Social Development Bathabile Dlamini.
Dlamini filed an affidavit last week in which she lays blame on Sassa officials for the grant payment crisis. This, after she was ordered by the court to explain why she should not be held personally liable for what the crisis at Sassa.
EWN reporter, Gia Niccolaides says Magwaza said he wants to explain some of the "inaccuracies" in Dlamini's affidavit.
In her affidavit, she laid a large portion of blame on Magwaza and his team at Sassa saying that she did not willfully intend to create the social grant payment crisis.— Gia Nicolaides, EWN reporter
He is really come out saying there is a lot more to what Dlamini is saying, indicating that it is not the first time that the Minister is lying.— Gia Nicolaides, EWN reporter
