Eight suspects apprehended with the help of Dorljota Taxi Association

The Dobsonville, Roodepoort, Leratong Johannesburg Taxi Association (Dorljota) Spokesperson Zeblon Semelane speaks to 702's Gugs and Sizwe about how the association helped apprehend suspects of a gruesome murder of three people, within 24 hours.

Semelane explained how he was notified of how a taxi driver and seven others allegedly took three people from an accident scene, then pretended to rush them to hospital, and later doused them with petrol and burned them.

Although he says the details of the incident are hear-say, the association managed to assist the police in the arrest of eight suspects.

He says three of the eight are members of the association and the other five are community members.

A week ago, a gang of men reportedly driving a white Quantum minibus taxi, are believed to have been picking up unsuspecting women in and around Soweto and raping them.

Semelane says he hasn't heard from the police about developments in the case.

He urged members of the public to come forward with information on any of the cases discussed.

He can be contacted on 071 639 7238 (Dorljota hotline) or 083 629 5944 (Semelane's personal number)

When you call, give us the information of the car, the number plate and where the car is coming from and where it is heading.

Zeblon Semelane, Dorljota Spokesperson

Our aim is to solve the problem to the fullest.
