Trump launches US's first direct military action against Syria

United States President Donald Trump has launched a military strike on a Syrian government airbase in response to a chemical weapons attack that killed more than 70 people on Tuesday.

Wits University's Professor John Stremlau says this is the first direct military action taken by the US against the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
