'You must be joking' banner causes a stir outside Luthuli House

Amid nationwide anti Zuma protests on Friday, several uMkhonto weSizwe Military Veterans Association (MKVA) assembled outside Luthuli House early on Friday morning.

EWN reporter Clement Manyathela was there. He says police have been trying to contain the crowds outside the African National Congress (ANC) headquarters, estimated at over 1000.

Manyathela says as the crowds grew, the problem began. Police had to prevent the crowds from moving towards the location where the Democratic Alliance (DA) held its protests.

As they were trying to do that, police would then fire rubber bullets to try and avoid a confrontation.

Manyathela says one of the altercations outside Luthuli House began when anti Zuma protesters were seen carrying a banner that read 'You must be joking'.

As soon as ANC members saw that, they went and started kicking them, punching them and then we started seeing some members of the MKVA and police coming through and assisting those anti-Zuma protesters and whisking them away.
