Solly Mapaila booed by ANC members at Chris Hani wreath-laying ceremony

Divisions between the African National Congress (ANC) and its alliance partner South African Communist Party (SACP) have become clear at the wreath-laying ceremony of former SACP secretary general, Chris Hani.

According to EWN reporter, Clement Manyathela, some ANC members have booed SACP second deputy secretary general, Solly Mapaila.

President Jacob Zuma is expected to address the annual Chris Hani Wreath Laying Ceremony in Elspark, Boksburg.

Hani, who was also the Umkhonto we Sizwe commander, was gunned down on 10 April 1993 outside his home in Dawn Park, Boksburg.

The crowd of most ANC members burst into songs celebrating and defending the President. And as soon as SACP's Solly Mapaila appeared then there were some factions from this crowd that was booing him.
