Opinion: Chris Hani's murder was a turning point for SA

Presenter Redi Tlhabi says so many lives were changed by the assassination of SA Communist Party (SACP) leader Chris Hani.

Today marks 24 years since Hani was shot and killed outside his home in Johannesburg, East Rand.

The Afternoon Drive host reflected on the mood in the country at the time of the struggle icon's death.

There was a sense of loss by so many people.

It was a turning point in our country for many reasons. Conversations about the first democratic elections started in earnest after Chris Hani was assassinated.
