If not wanting Zuma is racism then we are racists - Julius Malema

Over 100 000 people are estimated to have gathered at the Union Buildings in Pretoria in a mass march organised by opposition parties against President Jacob Zuma.

Political party leaders have addressed the crowds.

The Economic Freedom Fighters’ Dali Mpofu says the march is not anti-ANC.

This is about the removal of Zuma. We know all these parties are democratic parties, we know that the ANC won the elections in 2014 and they are going to lose the elections in 2019 but before that happens they must remove Zuma.

Dali Mpofu, EFF national chairperson

Cope’s Mosioua Lekota quoted from the Constitution maintaining that South Africa belongs to all who live in it.

EFF leader Julius Malema says this is not a once-off event and that they will continue demonstrations in other provinces.

If you call us racist we are proud racists, because we do not want this man here. If not wanting Zuma is racism then we are racists.

Julius Malema, EFF leader

If not wanting Zuma means we received money from white people then we are proud to have received that money from white people because anyone who finances a fight against corruption, that person is a patriot.

Julius Malema, EFF leader

He says the ruling party is misleading the public by suggesting the the country's credit ratings downgrade has been inflated by white people.

They are misleading you and they say this issue is an issue of white people, its not an issue of white people alone, it is an issue that is going to hit the pockets of the poorest man in the street.
