Makuse adds that despite the previous management's efforts to present the broadcaster as an operational entity, behind closed doors they made questionable business decisions, removing processes that would allow for accountability and thus more measured control on the finances.

Makuse adds that cooperate governance is important in running an institution effectively, something which was lacking at the SABC.
