Talk Radio 702's, Talk at Nine Host and Political analyst, Karima Brown spoke, amongst other things, about the looming show down between Police minister Fikile Mbalula and Hawks head Berning Ntlemeza.
Last week, the Pretoria High Court ruled that Ntlemeza should step down from his position. Police Minister Fikile Mbalula also announced Hawks deputy commissioner Yolisa Matakata, as Acting Head of the Hawks.
Ntlemeza has however, reportedly refused to vacate his office and insists he will report for work on Tuesday morning.
We now know that Mr. Ntlemeza is taking the matter to the Supreme Court of Appeal.— Karima Brown, Talk Radio 702's, Talk at Nine Host and Political analyst
Brown also discussed reports of Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma receiving presidential protection. Brown says the South African Police Services say that Dlamini-Zuma was afforded VIP protection after an alleged robbery attempt near a boutique hotel in Houghton, refusing to divulge further information.
This threat needs to be verified, it takes between four and eight weeks. It needs to be done on paper, we need to see evidence of it. It needs to be investigated and even then it doesn't automatically follow that the person who has been threatened get the presidential protection unit.— Karima Brown, Talk Radio 702's, Talk at Nine Host and Political analyst
Browns adds that in some instances the SAPS may provide escort services. She says there is no provision for Dlamini-Zuma to receive these services.
