In an exclusive interview with EWN reporter Clement Manyathela, African National Congress (ANC) treasurer-general Zweli Mkhize said he does not want to dwell on his public reaction to the axing of former finance minister Pravin Gordhan.
Mkhize is one of three of the ANC’s top six who came forward expressing his concern about President Jacob Zuma’s Cabinet changes.
In a comment made earlier this month, Mkhize said Zuma left the distinct impression that the ANC is no longer the centre.
Manyathela says the treasurer general has not confirmed or denied whether or not he holds the same views previously expressed.
He says for now ANC leaders must close ranks and rally behind this collective responsibility that has been taken by the party.— Clement Manyathela, EWN reporter
Mkhize avoided questions on Zuma and whether he is a good leader.
His body language would change, he would keep on reverting me back to how he thinks the African National Congress is gong through a very very difficult time and that is why people are now blaming each other.— Clement Manyathela, EWN reporter
