'We weren't going to quit', says Tim Noakes on not guilty verdict

Professor Tim Noakes says he is relieved that the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) verdict will allow him to continue sharing information on Twitter.

Noakes has been found not guilty by the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) on a charge of unprofessional conduct.

Noakes came under scrutiny in 2014 when he suggested a woman on Twitter to wean her baby onto a low carbohydrate, high-fat diet.

He explains that the 2014 tweet contained information rather than medical advice, as there was no prior doctor-patient relationship.
