Eskom board spokesperson Khulani Qoma says the board has welcomed Minister of Public Enterprises, Lynne Brown's decision on Brian Molefe's pension payout after 18 months at the power utility.
Brown declined the R30 million payment to former Eskom CEO Brian Molefe saying the board needs to demonstrate financial prudence.
Brown has given the board seven days to urgently engage Molefe and report back to her with an "appropriate pension" proposal.
Qoma says the board has already started to align to the wishes of the minister.
What is happening now is that Mr Molefe and other experts in the field that are relevant to this matter are being consulted.— Khulani Qoma, Eskom board spokesperson
There's a lot of work that needs to be done as you understand its only seven days...— Khulani Qoma, Eskom board spokesperson
