Presenter Redi Tlhabi says she's very impressed with Police Minister Fikile Mbalula's visibility and handling of the Berning Ntlemeza matter.
I'm very impressed with Fikile Mbalula's visibility in this instance. He just hit the ground running. It is crucial.— Redi Tlhabi, 702's Afternoon Drive presenter
This comes after Mbalula reiterated that Ntlemeza is no longer the head of the Hawks as per the order of the High Court of Pretoria.
Mbalula held a briefing at the Hawks offices where Ntlemeza reported for duty on Monday morning, despite the court order.
He earlier withdrew an appeal by his predecessor Nkosinathi Nhleko to escalate the Ntlemeza matter to the appeal court.
The Afternoon Drive host elaborated on why the Hawks requires legitimate leadership and stability and played back Mbalula's remarks.
He [Ntlemeza] should've been blocked there at the door. It's an embarrassment to says the least. It shouldn't happen.— Fikile Mbalula, Minister of Police
