"ANC discipline applied inconsistently in presidential race"

Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa's, presidential campaign for the African National Congress has been dubbed CR17.

Political analyst Dr. Somadoda Fikeni says Ramaphosa's address in the Eastern Cape this past Sunday, was somewhat of an unofficial launch of the deputy presidents campaign for the presidency in the African National Congress (ANC).

We're in for an interesting period in 2017.

Fikeni says the discipline in the ANC has always been applied inconsistently. He uses President Jacob Zuma as example, as someone who has seemingly openly endorsed Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma while opposing the electioneering of fellow ANC members in the past.

The leaders tend to choose provinces where they start their campaign with the most enthusiastic support. So you may begin to see Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma going to those provinces which are under the premier leagues control where she knows that there won't be any booing.
