Only second president to be elected in Angola's 38-year independence

Angolan President Jose Eduardo Dos Santos will no longer be the president when the country goes to the polls on 23 August for national elections.

Defence Minister Joao Lourenco will run as the presidential candidate for the People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), while Dos Santos remains the leader of the party.
