Eyewitness News reports that Berning Ntlemeza has asked the High Court in Pretoria to grant him a restraining order against Police Minister Fikile Mbalula.
Ntlemeza wants Mbalula to stop interfering in his duties as the head of the Hawks.
The dismissed Hawks head insists that he will not leave office until the Supreme Court of Appeal delivers a ruling on the matter.
Last week Mbalula replaced Ntlemeza after the High Court ruling set aside his appointment and ordered that he be removed from the position with immediate effect for not being fit to hold the post.
The Police Ministry appointed Lieutenant General Yolisa Matakata as acting Hawks head.
