Lieutenant General Berning Ntlemeza has approached the High Court to grant him a restraining order against Police Minister Fikile Mbalula to stop the minister from trying to remove him from office and making comments about him.
EWN reporter, Barry Bateman tells the Midday Report's Stephen Grootes that it is important to differentiate between two court cases that are happening simultaneously, the first being in the Supreme Court of Appeal.
Berning Ntlemeza is appealing the enforcement order that he be removed from his position.— Barry Bateman, EWN Reporter
Bateman explains that Ntlemeza is relying a section 18 of a Superior Court Act which states that once an appeal has been made against an enforcement order it automatically suspends that particular order.
Now what he's disputing is firstly asking the court to interdict Minister Mbalula from interfering in his duties and harassing him.— Barry Bateman, EWN Reporter
