Sports Injury List

Returning from injury is like fish to water for some but Hingins fails to ace it

Schalk return for Burger but Tiger might need to change his sports!

Coming back from injury always proves more difficult for players not only because they need to catch up regarding training and stamina but there's also the pressure from fans who would like to see their idols hit the ground running. This could even result in quick subsequent injuries and extended lay off. Marc Lewis and Dr Zac van Heerden looked at the latest on the sports injury list as teams like Bayern and Real Madrid continue without a few key players.

Some of the comeback kids include Tiger Woods who was at the Masters a few days ago although he didn't make any great waves or win, he seems to be slowly swinging back to form. But form for Tiger means winning as he's gotten his fans and himself used to, so we watch this space with keen interest. Shalk Burger is another comeback kid, even has an award to prove it! Schalk (above) won the Laureus Sports Award for Comeback Of The year a few days ago in Shangai.

Victor Matfield (above) is also back from injury and much like tennis' Martina Hingis, hasn't made much impact. Martina has been absent from the scene but injuries seem to be behind her, much like her glory days maybe? We wait and see. For more on the sports injury list, listen here...
