Popular indie singer-songwriter Matthew Mole says he's always striving to create music that people can relate to and connect with.

I want to try and create music that people can connect to on the same level around the world.

Mole has been nominated for the SA Music Awards in the following categories this year: record of the year, best pop album and best produced album.

He says its an honour to be recognised among a talented group of artists for his latest album, "Run".

Mole reflected on his musical journey and inspiration with presenter Azania Mosaka before performing live at Time Square Casino at Menlyn Maine.
