What causes inflammation? Dr Loggerenberg explains

It's important to understand the causes of inflammation, in order to effectively mange it, explains emergency medicine expert Dr Charl van Loggerenberg.

He explains that inflammation is the body's complex biological response to injury or harmful stimuli.

Dr Loggerenberg says that inflammation can be acute or chronic.

Inflammation often involves pain, heat and swelling, but is necessary as it works to heal wounds, he advises.

It's a very necessary process as a part of how our body works... The healing process includes inflammation.
