Fifth busiest royal, The Duke of Edinburgh retires at 95

An unusual emergency meeting was called at Buckingham Palace overnight which sparked concerns about the health of Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip.

On Thursday morning the palace officials provided clarity, saying the prince has decided to retire.

EWN's United Kingdom correspondent, Gavin Grey says the prince, who turns 96 in June, will stop his royal duties.

The Queen however will carry on the full programme of official engagements.
