Phahlane describes alleged coup plot as "unfortunate" before police committee

EWN Parliamentary Correspondent, Gaye Davis was in Parliament on Thursday attending the police committee. meeting.

Acting Head of the Hawks, Yolisa Matakata made her first appearance before the committee alongside Acting Police Commissioner, Khomotso Phahlane.

Davis says the key things the committee wanted answers for apart from the budget briefings was the arrest of the so-called coup plotter, 33-year-old, Elvis Ramosebudi.

Today MPs wanted to know why the charges were watered down from conspiracy to murder and further diluted to indictment to murder once Ramosebudi appeared in court.
