Coup plotter suspect, Elvis Ramosebudi, appeared in the Johannesburg magistrates court on Friday for bail proceedings.
Ramosebudi is accused of plotting to kill 19 high profile people, including Cabinet ministers
EWN reporter, Kgomotso Modise says the prosecution has explained to the court why they are seeking to oppose bail, saying Ramosebudi might commit another crime upon his release.
She says the defence argues that Ramosebudi is not a repeat offender, non a threat to society, or a flight risk and for those reasons, he should be released.
Modise says the NPA earlier in the week changed the charge from conspiracy to commit murder to incitement to commit murder.
They stated the fact that Ramosebudi had acted alone as their reason to amend the charge.
