An emerging market economist discusses whether acting Eskom CEO Brian Molefe can turn the limping parastatal around.

Public Enterprises Minister Lynne Brown has appointed Transnet CEO Brian Molefe as the acting Eskom CEO.

Molefe has been at the head of Transnet since 2011 and was the Public Investment Corporation CEO from 2003 to 2010.

He’s known for his strong management style and hefty experience, but how much can Molefe achieve in the limited medium run?
