Centrist opponent Emmanuel Macron has soundly defeated far-right leader Marine Le Pen in the race for the French presidency.

Le Pen has conceded defeat, saying French people decided to vote for continuity.

International relations expert Professor John Stremlau says it's clear that Le Pen is not done with French politics just yet.

She's only 48 and she'll be back, I'm sure, in five years.

Stremlau says Le Pen's far-right National Front party will likely win 100 seats in the parliamentary elections next month.
