'Minister Nxesi, don't fight soccer clubs!' (they don't even know who you are)

Sports Minister Thulas Nxesi has said he is considering using the law to force clubs to make their players available to play for the country.

This week the under twenty football team went to Brazil without some of the younger stars who are playing for their clubs.

EWN sports reporter and anchor, Morena Mothupi, says Nxesi can't make these statements while he is still new in sports portfolio.

You can't be coming out guns blazing saying to the clubs we gonna force you to give out your players.

Morena Muthuphi, EWN reporter

You have the likes of Irvin Khoza, Patrice Motsepe and Kaizer Motaung who yield a lot of power in this country, for you to be telling them you will use the law. They can life very uncomfortable for South African by holding on their players.
