Cope vows to physically bar Molefe from entering Eskom HQ doors

The Congress of the People (Cope) says it plans to block the entrance to Eskom’s headquarters on Monday to physically prevent former Chief Executive Officer Brian Molefe from entering the building.

Molefe is expected to resume his duties at Megawatt Park on Monday after his reinstatement was announced last week.

We are going to split our forces.. Some of us will be there at Megawatt Park so that Brian Molefe won't be able to go into the premises or building.

The DA and EFF will be going to court over the issue while Cope have promised to physically block Molefe from entering Eskom offices.

Cope spokesperson Dennis Bloem says Molefe's reinstatement is improper and says the Eskom board has no chance in court.

Other people are going to the courts, other are picketing and demonstrating. We are part and parcel of that.

Dennis Bloem, Cope spokesperson

Bloem concedes that the plans to gather outside Megawatt Park have not been approved by authorities.
