Opinion: DA goes after young progressive black woman instead of Zille

It has been reported that the Democratic Alliance (DA) has charged its KwaZulu-Natal legislature member, Mbali Ntuli, for breaching the party’s constitution and social media policy.

It is alleged that Ntuli liked a Facebook comment that called Western Cape Premier Helen Zille a racist.

The party has been facing pressure from the public to act against Zille, who posted a tweet in March saying the legacy of colonialism was not all negative.

Ntuli was the first DA member to publicly disagree and criticise Zille for her tweet.

Eusebius McKaiser says the DA is shooting itself on the foot by acting against Ntuli.

The DA can't discipline Helen Zille who is a much more prominent and poisonous person for them... but can very quickly put together a charge sheet and a date on which Mbali Ntuli will be disciplined for liking a comment on her wall that is not favourable about Helen Zille.

Eusebius McKaiser

You are scared of nipping Helen Zille's neo-colonial defense in the butt, but you are not scared of going after a young progressive black woman in the party.

Eusebius McKaiser

The DA is an ultimate gift to Luthuli House and EFF, stupid, stupid, stupid.
