Phahlane has hit back at accusations by the investigative unit. He insists the probe is unlawful and that Ipid has been ‘captured’ by independent investigator Paul O’ Sullivan.

EWN's parliamentary correspondent Gaye Davis is following developments on the story.

Davis says MPs are concerned.

MPs are very concerned and have expressed that concern in no uncertain terms, one of them was just saying that it is just astonishing to hear the acting head of the police on the one hand and Ipid on the other taking these lines against each other here in a public forum.
