Rock band Fokofpolisiekar crowdfunding campaign hits R1 million mark

According to Thundafund.com, South African band Fokofpolisiekar broke a local record in rewards-based crowdfunding.

The band doubled their original campaign goal of R500 000 in less than nine days.

Their goal was to raise the money to fund the independent release of their first album in eleven years.

Music expert Sean Brokenshaw spoke to Stephen Grootes about the concept of crowdfunding and its impact.
