Zulu King's building project for reed dance could cost R1 billion

The Sunday Times reports that a new facility being built for Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini near Nongoma in KwaZulu Natal could cost R1 billion, about eight times more than the R129 million approved for the first phase of the project.

Sunday Times reporter investigating the story, Bongani Mthethwa, says the project was requested by the King from the Department of Arts and Culture to improve facilities for Umkhosi woMhlanga (known as the Royal Reed Dance).
