Zuma ropes in ANC ancestors to negotiate for votes in Nquthu

Both President Jacob Zuma and his deputy, Cyril Ramaphosa addressed supporters of the African National Congress (ANC) on Sunday. Ramaphosa addressed the ANC and South African Communist Party (SACP) supporters at the Moses Kotane memorial lecture in Rustenburg in the North West on Sunday. Zuma addressed the Siyanqoba rally in Nquthu, officially closing off campaigning for the party ahead of next Wednesday’s by-elections.

EWN reporter, Ziyanda Ngcobo was in Nquthu and says Zuma's speech was quite simple.

The President basically urging the people of Nquthu to vote for the ANC because the ANC is the only party that has a track record in bringing prosperity, particularity in black communities.

Ngcobo says President Zuma also said the party fought for freedom and told gatherers that Wednesday's forthcoming election is an opportunity for the Nquthu residents to have their voices heard. Ngcobo adds that it is difficult at this stage to determine which political party is likely to emerge victorious in the area.
