Gender violence in the Spotlight

Bring Back Our Boys Camp: Grooming young boys to be better men

After having a bad experience with men, Sindiswa Mbonambi, director of My Identity Restoration Campaign started a journey to find out why men are bitter, angry and abusive towards women.

Mbonambi found out that a lot of men, who end up abusing women, don't have male role models and she did not want her son to walk the same path.

South Africa has been experiencing one of the highest female death rates at the hands of their intimate partners.

A lot of men are bitter and they are going through a lot in silence.

Sindiswa Mbonambi, director of My Identity Restoration Campaign

Mbonambi founded My Identity Restoration Campaign which is aimed at restoring the identity of a male child.

She later met Tebello Mosese, founder of Phethahatso Foundation and realised they were working towards a similar goal and decided to combine forces. "Bring Back Our Boys Camp" is aimed at grooming young boys to be better men.
