Uganda wants its oil to benefit locals

The Ugandan government remains committed to ensuring that it gets the best deal from its oil and investing profits to its citizens.

The country discovered oil in 2006.

Nikiwe Bikitsha, who is in Uganda as part of Africa Connected with Standard and 702, met with the Chamber of Mines to discuss business and investment opportunities in the country.

Uganda is trying to get this right. And we hope they do.

Uganda's agricultural sector is also very strong, and Bikitsha has tried meals made from bananas, which she says are everywhere you go.
