Motlanthe lashes out at Eskom CEOs on Africa Day

Former president Kgalema Motlanthe has weighed in on recent developments at Eskom saying that the power utility company is a vital parastatal that is going to waste following the reappointment of Brian Molefe as group CEO.

Motlanthe was speaking at an Africa day event held by the charity Oxfam.

EWN reporter Thando Kubheka says Motlanthe went as far as saying that CEO's at Eskom want to be praised for keeping the lights on when that is their job.

He also lashed out at CEOs for wanting to be paid big money while they go out and play golf.

Motlanthe says those who fail to perform their duties should be held accountable.
