Lynne Brown and DA to meet over claims of Eskom's destruction of key documents

Public Enterprises Minister Lynne Brown has announced that she intends to launch her own inquiry into allegations of state capture against state owned enterprise Eskom and its CEO, Brian Molefe.

Natasha Mazzone, DA Shadow Minister of Public Enterprises, says she is unimpressed with the minister's intentions. Mazzone says there have already been far too many investigations where findings are made and kept a secret.

These investigations cost millions of rands.

Mazzone says she is however pleased with the portfolio committee on public enterprises to get parliamentary approval for a full parliamentary investigation, similar to that of the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC).

Such investigations are costly and take far too much time to reach conclusions, she adds.

The committee will be summoning members of National Treasury and Auditor-General to give them their findings.
