There are possibilities that another motion of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma will be tabled at the ANC's national executive committee (NEC) meeting this week.
EWN's Clement Manyathela reports that there are a lot of expectations for the three-day gathering which comes after President Jacob Zuma reshuffled his cabinet leading to two junk status downgrades from two ratings agencies.
Manyathela explains that there is a lot that has happened since the last NEC meeting in November, mass calls for Zuma's removal, the planned motion of no confidence and the South African Council of Churches (SACC) Unburdening Report.
While Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa has indicated that there’s a need for the ANC to discuss calls for Zuma to leave office, the details of the NEC agenda have yet not been publicised.
At the same time, Zuma has made a move to clarify that he is not not opposed to establishing a commission of inquiry into allegations of state capture.
