YCLSA will push for SACP to 'lead new front', if ANC fails to remove Zuma

The Young Communist League of South Africa (YCLSA) has called for new leadership in the ANC to take the ruling party forward.

We don't want leaders like Zuma who continue to pay lip service to addressing challenges.

Yershen Pillay, National Chairperson of the Young Communist League of South Africa

YCLSA chairperson Yershen Pillay says that if the ANC does not self-correct, the South African Communist Party (SACP) may have to independently contest 2019 elections and reconsider the configuration of the tripartite alliance.

If the ANC is unable to do so, then the SACP will have to lead us out of this capitalist crisis.

Yershen Pillay, National Chairperson of the Young Communist League of South Africa

According to Pillay, the ANC is meant to use internal processes to unseat President Jacob Zuma and should not rely on Parliament or motions of no confidence.

We don't think that Parliament is the right platform to make a decision about President Zuma's leadership.

At the same time, the YCLSA says that the feasibility of the nuclear build programme shows that free education for the poor is also possible.

Take a listen to him explain the YCLSA's views:
