Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa to speak at Cosatu's CEC meeting not Zuma

Cosatu’s Central Committee meeting is underway in Midrand, Johannesburg.

At last weeks special meeting Cosatu made a decision that it will not allow President Jacob Zuma to address this event.

EWN reporter, Clement Manyathela says it has been confirmed that the Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa has been deployed to give the ANC's message of support to those attending the event.

Usually, this would've been a task done by President Jacob Zuma, says Manyathela.

Manyathela says he asked about the motion of no confidence against Cosatu's president Sdumo Dlamini and was told that the party would like to focus on uniting the organisation and they will deal with him at the congress next year.

They want to come up with solutions and how they can help some of the workers that are un-unionised in the country before the new federation headed by Zwelinzama Vavi gets to them.
